Disclosure
Affiliate disclosure
Buy Right Once earns commissions on purchases made through some of the links on this site. If you click a link to a brand or retailer and buy something, we may be paid a commission. You don't pay anything extra.
We mark these links as paid links, and we put a short disclosure near the links in every article, not only on this page.
Programs we participate in or plan to apply to
Depending on approval, this may include brand affiliate programs (for example EcoFlow, BLUETTI and Anker SOLIX for generators, and sauna, hot tub, grill and fitness brands as we add those categories), retailer programs such as BBQGuys and The Home Depot, affiliate networks, and the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. (This sentence applies once our Amazon account is active.)
What commissions don't change
- Which products we cover, and our verdicts.
- The specs we report. Those come from the manufacturer.
- Our safety advice.
Equipment quote requests
Our equipment quote page isn't live yet. If we start passing quote requests to dealers or distributors and get paid for them, we'll say so on that page before anyone submits a request.

Shipping and availability
Buy Right Once is written for buyers anywhere in the United States, and the retailers we link to sell to U.S. customers. Delivery isn't always nationwide, though, so check the retailer's shipping page before you buy:
- Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. territories: some retailers ship only to the contiguous U.S., or only some products to Alaska and Hawaii. Large freight items (hot tubs, saunas, appliances, standby generators) are the most likely to be excluded or to cost extra.
- California emissions rules: new gas generators and other small engines sold in California must meet California Air Resources Board standards, so non-compliant models may not ship there.
- Local rules: some California communities restrict new salt-based water softeners that discharge to the sewer. Permits are often required for furnaces, heat pumps, standby generators and whole-house water systems.
- Installation: retailer installation services, haul-away and white-glove delivery vary by ZIP code.
